CCI Mini-Mag 22LR (what I Choot at Competition) – Tactical Tool Tuesday

On Tactical Tool Tuesday I will share with you a tool aimed at improving your life as a Woman Who Shoots. I’ll always give you my honest opinion, regardless of how I obtain the item. If you know of something you’d like me to review or discuss, please drop me a line or leave a comment below. Today I will share with you my favorite ammunition for shooting steel in the .22 Stock Auto division: CCI Mini-Mag 22LR.

This post begins with a video, class. Have you ever watched Swamp People on The History Channel? If not, you’re massively missing out. You should go watch it, but if you check out the short video below, you’ll get enough of the point for this post to make sense.

That’s Troy Landry and I think he’s awesome.

Ok, so back to the point. For anyone who knows me or shoots with me, knows I have the worst luck sometimes when it comes to technical malfunctions. I swear I used to be lucky. Lately, however, if it will light strike, double feed, chew up a bullet, etc, it will happen to me. I’m almost at peace and my clearing technique is very strong.

With that said, one thing issue I’ve been able to eliminate is ammo issues.

Enter CCI Mini-Mag 22LR

I confess the first time I used the Troy Landry “Choot ‘Em” versions of the CCI Mini-Mag 22LR it was not intentional. I sent Mr. SiL in to pick up some ammo on the way to a match and he came back with these. He seemed to find it very amusing and spent the day saying “Chooter Ready?” every time I got up to shoot. Cheesy Mr. SiL jokes aside, I had very few ammo issues that day and really enjoyed my experience.

With some other boxes of ammo I have tried, there were significant issues with my Ruger Mark III Hunter “chewing” the ammo or causing other issues (I’m looking at you Federal Auto Match). As soon as I started using the CCI Mini-Mag 22LR, however, things got much smoother.

Why I Like The CCI Mini-Mag 22LR

Beyond the hours of funny joke about Chooting Gators, these little beauties have all but eliminated any ammunition related issues. They are inexpensive and well made. They are also readily available.

If you are looking for reliable and affordably priced ammo for your .22LR (and I have used this in multiple firearms) look no further than the CCI Mini-Mags. And if you want to laugh and support a truly funny dude, pick up the Troy Landry Choot ‘Ems.
